Dutch Post-Impressionism Painting

A focused selection of works drawn almost equally from the gallery’s holdings and a single private collection, examining how a group of Dutch painters born between 1853 and 1879 responded to the example of the Hague School — and, mostly in Paris, re-invented what a Dutch picture could look like.

A special room looks at the brief but explosive overlap of Nauen, Toorop, and the young Mondrian in Domburg at the turn of the century, complete with a large selection of related drawings and letters.
